Before we get started, I just want to make sure that it is understood that I love marshmallows! Of course like most people, I grew up on the everyday supermarket shelved mallows but I became a lover all the same. In fact, when huddled around a campfire making s’mores it isn’t abnormal to find me toasting my marshmallow, pulling it off the stick, and indulging in the ooey gooey goodness without the chocolate or graham cracker. Did I mention that I love marshmallows?

As they are a family favorite, recently I was surfing the web for recipes with one main ingredient, you guessed it, marshmallows! During my search I saw a link to 240Sweet and I just had to click the button and see what it was all about. Holy moly I am glad that I did! I spoke with Sam, a totally awesome lady, expressed my desire to become better acquainted with their product, and here we are today! First, a little bit about 240Sweet.

Partners Alexa Lemley and Samantha Aulick hand-craft artisan treats in Columbus, Indiana; which is just a hop, skip, and jump away from my home in Cincinnati! Their gourmet treats are available in a large variety of flavors such as Dill Pickle, Bananas Foster, Ghost Pepper, and more. They offer a featured marshmallow each month as well as a Marshmallow of the Month Club which consists of a three-pack theme.  Each treat is created in small batches with local, all-natural and organic ingredients.

Now, where was I? Oh yes, Sam sent me out a sample package of their artisan marshmallows which included Blackberry Merlot, Crème Brûlée, and Spring Crunch. It was easy to tell that the marshmallows are hand-crafted and cut. The packaging is simple yet elegant and is topped off with a beautiful purple bow; my favorite color. The first thing that I noticed was the feel of the marshmallow; this is not your run of the mill marshmallow, 240Sweet creates fluffy and soft puffs. Then there was the flavor. This is my first experience with gourmet marshmallows and I don’t think I will be able to rely on the supermarket for my future supply.

While I loved them all, my absolute favorite was the Blackberry Merlot which kind of shocked me. I’m not a big wine fan; I see myself as more of a beer kind of girl but these marshmallows were absolutely divine. The already amazing treat is introduced to fresh, organic blackberries and a sweet Merlot wine to make melt in your mouth perfection. The Crème Brûlée is made from rich vanilla custard with a touch of toasted caramel. Last but certainly not least, the Spring Crunch has a bright pink beet sugar crust with a vanilla center. The flavor profile is beyond reproach. I’ve never experienced such melt in your mouth, tantalizing flavors until 240Sweet and as I said, I’m never going back to the “old school” version.

If you are a fan of everything marshmallow OR just love a treat every now and then, I highly recommend that you check out 240Sweet and see what all the fuss is about. 😉
